Avid puts MXF precomputers in a new folder??

First off I've searched for this topic and couldn't find an answer.
OK. So I've been following instructions on Avid workflow with P2 media.
Great it works. New project = new folder with a new sequencial number (ie. 7.)
Rename folder to (ie. "7.mynewproject") after databases are created, done.
My issue is whenever I import other files or render effects within avid, these files and precomputes end up in a new folder called 1. I've already got a number 1 folder from a previous project. It's really screwing up my organization.
How does one force avid to send precomputes to the folder for that project("7.mynewproject")? I really miss the simplicity of the old OMF structure.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Simon.
