Ok, so I've edited a feature film, shot on an HVX, in Avid (God help me!). I now need to export the audio for my soundguy to finish. He is using Logic on a Mac.
I've exported an OMF, whit consolidated media (wave files) alongside it. He can import it, and apparantly everything is just fine. But on a closer look a few problems emerges. They all relate to split P2 files - that is files that the camera has split into two seperate MXF files, for them to fit on the P2 cards.
Avid automatically join these split files when editing, but something goes wrong in the export. I'm not entirely sure what happens exactly, but I have a feeling that Avid only "consolidates" the audio from the last half of the file, and therefore the timecodes get screwed up.
I've tried all sorts of stuff, but nothing works. Have anyone had this problem?
