Avid MXF transcoding/resolution question

I am transcoding 1080p footage shot on Canon 7d and an EX-1 into MXF. I wondered anyone could help me with a question ... do I lose anything by going DNxHD 115 instead of DNxHD 175... Because 175 is eating a ton of storage space.
thanks

DNxHD 115 is more compressed than 175. Compress a file to both and compare the two - do you see a difference? If not, go with 115. If you need to, take them into AE, stack them on top of one another, and set the top to composite mode Difference. Anything left is what the compression is doing - if you can live with it (or if it's even noticeable) go with 115.

Otherwise, compress to 115, cut, lock your edit and recompress just what you used to 175. You know, offline/online.

You could always off-line at a lower res then relink to the higher res once finished with the sequence. This should save you some space too.
