Avid Media Composer Mac SD video workflow

Our shop is transitioning from D9 acquisition to P2. Tomorrow! We're staying SD for now as we have much legacy media, both on our system and tape.

Our question is what would be the best way to accomplish this with our setup. We roll 1:1 uncompressed in our Avid. Here's what we've got... HVX200 rolling to two 8-gig cards, a PCS060 portable hard disk unit for field transfer. Back in the studio, we have a dual 2gig G5 tower attached to MediaRaid 8 storage in a Media Composer software/SDI Mojo hardware arrangement.

We always shoot 29.97 and want to intermix the new MXF stuff we'll shoot with the legacy OMF Avid stuff from before. What's the best HVX200 format to match our current media?

Regarding the new P2 files, I'm planning on hooking up the PCS060 directly to the front of the G5 with a USB 2.0 cable and mounting it to the desktop. I've looked over the many helpful posts regarding getting the data where it needs to be, so I'll do my best there. If all goes as advertised, the media should play nice with each other. What am I leaving out? Is there a better way? Standing by for comments. Thanks much, and what a great forum!
