Avid Media Composer 6 or Avid Symphony 6 ?

Most if it is in the color correction feature set. Additional tools such as secondaries, relational, channels, etc. There is also "universal mastering" but it only works for standard definition projects for PAL and NTSC when working at 23.976, 24, or 25 progressive.

Plenty of work being finished on Media Composer - just depends on the needs of the program master.

I have Media Composer 5. Trying to decide if I should upgrade to MC 6 or Symphony 6. I also have FCP 7. Can I use the same AJA Kona LH board that I use with my FCP with Avid 6?
 
Your Kona should work with Avid 6 (but no earlier version). Check for the appropriate driver on the AJA website. Right now, I think you can do a "crossgrade" from FCP to Symphony for $1k. I think the same crossgrade to MC is $1500. Double check the pricing with Avid, though.
