Just go my dvx100a and am trying to import via firewire into my computer. I can open windows explorer and watch video from the camera there, but if the camera is on when I load avid 4.3, my entire computer freezes up.
I've tried starting avid and then turning on the camera, but then avid doesn't recognize the camera. In the presets I can see a dvx100p, but even if I select it I still can’t synch up the camera.
I’m going to try with other applications but I do all my editing in avid and know it should work so if anyone has any suggestions please give them.

Re: avid freezes

ok no one has resonded but just incase someone else needs this info here is what I did to fix the problem...
Re-installed windows, yup I took the cheap way out, but hey when you're dealing with a crappy os like xp pro sometimes it's just easier to start over.
Anyway all works now.

Re: avid freezes

look around in the avid forum's, i have 4.3 aswell and just upgrade to 4.3.1 because of all the problems i've heard about 4.3

Re: avid freezes

Yes go to the Avid forum here (I would guess Michael is busy at NAB, he has all the answers!).

You can also go to the Xpress Pro pc forum at avid.com.

I'm Mac running 4.1.1

2000/XP is far from being crap, but maybe your release of avid or other apps involved are.

Re: avid freezes

macs are for people who don't know about computers. no compatibility, overpriced, slow, and only used by suckers who were forced to use them in school.
Only good thing about a mac is the os.
