Hi Everyone! I have a big problem, and it`s very strange. When I start a new Avid project i choose 25i PAL, and when I capture footage from dv tape (HDV) using Sony Video Walkman (pal version of course) Avid shows that, the captured material is 30 fps, not a 25. When I put it into a timeline, everything seems ok. it is 25 fps, but in source monitor it shows 30 fps. The strange thing is that, when you try to play the footage in a source monitor it plays 25 fps, but shows 30 fps in its timecode, so one second is about 5 frames too long. Looks like NTSC, and PAL in one project? or something about it, but i thought it is impossible to mix PAL and NTSC formats in one project. The camera we use is PAL version of sony Z1. Everything is in 25i PAL format. I don`t know, maybe somebody had the same timecode problem. I use avid xpress pro 4.5, and i upgraded it to avid xpress pro hd 5, and it is still the same
It is strange, isn`t it? The PC we use is intel core duo 2,40 ghz, 2gb Ram, windows XP sp2, and two graphic cards: matrox millenium g200 pci, and nvidia geforce 6600. Any idea? Please help...
PS. I hope it is the last time when i work with magnetic tape, because imho it sucks a lot! I want to buy hvx200 soon. P2 is what i was dreaming for ages!!!
Cheers and greetings from Poland!
