AVID/DVX100/After Effects Problem

i'm having a problem with footage that was shot on a DVX100 edited & slo-motioned in AVID XPress Pro and brought into After Effects for color correcting and Magic Bullet and then brought back into AVID. most of the footage looks fine, but when the camera is panning the footage gets watery. anyone else experience this or have some suggestions?

sorry for the delay! (i ended up just running the project out from the avid and skipping the after effects stage).

all import/exports were uncompressed (animation format set to max). everything looked fine except the parts where the dvx-100a was panning, or there was a subject moving quickly in the horizontal plane during a tripod shot.

the slo-motion was done in the avid. just setting the footage speed to around 66 percent...

thanks!

Hey, how does the Avid slow-motion effect look? How is it done exactly? One of my goals is to be able to "undercrank" and "overcrank" in post to create the desired motion effects.

Thanks,

If you can get your hands on a symphony, the promoted Motion FX does an amazing job of slo-moing shots. It will read the pulldown than render it using the same cadence.

Avid Xpress Pro HD has some presets using the FluidMotion effect. There is also a great time warper in Boris Effects.
