This is killing me. I keep authoring a movie in Blu-ray and just when I am almost done...GOTCHA!

Avid DVD crashes. I save after every key stroke. The project file is there, named correctly is about 325kb, but when I try to open it - NOTHING. I've spent about 30 hours authoring the same movie over, and over again, I almost get to the end but it crashes everytime! (I am going insane) I just unistalled/reinstalled Avid DVD and DIO runtime, but no matter what, it just opens the projects as Untitled2 (Great software Avid) and nothing is there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there a fix for this>??? Please !

other than a different authoring program?
You can start from scratch again and notate what file it is utilizing when it crashes and replace that file.
If spending more time and money troubleshooting a bug than the cost of better authoring program, it may be time to rearrange a work flow.

I was disappointed to see this, really.
A big reason I bought adrenaline when I did was suppose to work so well with Avid DVD. I found quickly that the bugs in this obviously un chartered workflow made it impossible to advertise as a service and, well, I was pretty disappointed that my HDV native system could not handle HDV.

bottom line... you will lose money trying to hold avid's hand here. Move on and move upward. This is what all of us are having to do.

This is absurd. How can Avid sell this software??? How is this legal. The software has so many bugs and crashes so often it is in fact "un-usable".

I started to use Avid 3D and it is even worse. All I tried was to make an animated text file, from a template, and got about 5 different errors.

Id there an option to get money back for this software? I purchased all there stupid training DVD's too so I could master the whole tool kit - except, it doesn't even work...

I think your right about moving on to another software platform.

I'll be dedicating my time filing complaints with the FCC and other organizations against Avid.

I like your passion but you are best off just moving onward. They have made their choice of what their future is to be.
Right now, you can simply get another authoring app and rock on. Leter on, you'll step up to a better NLE as well. Your growth depends on how much time you spend on it and spending time messing with companies that lost their passion will only subtract from the time you could spend on your dreams.
