Avid back to P2

I am having a hard time returning Avid edits to the camera via USB 2.0 (Windows XP).

My workflow is as follows.

1)Copy footage from P2 into avid media folders.
2)Use the media tool to bring it into my project. Apply edits and effects.
3) CONSOLIDATE the timeline into an Avid MEdiaFiles folder as an independent file.
4) Copy the Avid MEdialfiles via USB 2.0 to the P2 card video folder on the camera- respecting of course the P2 folder hierarchy.
5) BUT... the camera doesnt see anything but the fact that there is less file space.

Has anybody succeeded with this?

Thanks

Can you export an MXF from Avid? I don't think you can, but I don't really know... I know Edius can do it, but I thought it was the only NLE that currently does.

The way to get the files back to the card is to "print to video" from the timeline. That way the camera will construct a compliant MXF file.

Im sorry- I still cant figure this out.
Just to confirm- have you (barrY) got it to work on Avid Xpress PRO HD. And if so how do you get the HVX200 to load like a deck over USB?
What mode do you put the camera in? Any special settings?

Thanks in advance

Yes I printed back from the timeline to the card. But it doesn't work over USB, it's firewire streaming from the timeline back to the camera. And you have to have the camera in the same mode as the timeline (so either 720/60p or 1080/60i).

Thanks- I finally got this to work.
It was just the firewire thing as I had believed that firewire didnt work with PC and The HVX.

Thanks Again
