. . . should recognize the unmistakable lines of the Ford Trimotor. This is particular plane (NC8407) is one of the few remaining flying craft, and it's immortalized as being the model for the Trimotor in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.

These shots are taken at the Erie-Ottawa Regional Airport near Port Clinton, Ohio, home of Island Airlines, which flew a Trimotor for many years. If you've ever had the Monogram Trimotor scale model from the '70s, it was done with the markings of the Island Airlines Tin Goose (N7584).

So, Erie-Ottawa is one of the very few stops NC8407 is making on its tour of North America, and as a testament to being at the right place at the right time and having your DVX with you, I got an impromptu gig shooting the plane for the local Trimotor enthusiast group . . .

Wow, very cool. Just interested, how did the audio turn out? I bet it sounds awesome as well.

I did not fly on this one. The enthusiast group had no control over that, and tickets were $100 for about ten minutes.

I did fly on N7584 when I was a kid. Unfortunately, she's not in too good of shape:

But she's being restored and will hopefully fly again.

John, you'd have no room to shoot anything in there. You'd need to build a set.

Audio is good.

Did a little more CC on it. Good shots!
