I set up a bulb in the garage and shot a quick & dirty test. AVCHD and MJPEG high Mbit rate 1920x1080.
Also when playing back mjpeg, it records the fine noise more fatefully coming off the sensor- grain like,
however the AVCHD codec smooths it out a little more or Mjpeg is over sharpend. This just might be that the AVCHD formulas/numbers
are still a work in progress.- At 320 ISO the AVCHD shadows were less of an issu. I'm going to shoot the same test
at 720 mjpeg to see how the extra bits do for the Mjpeg. I'm gonna reduce the GOP from 15 to ?, to see if that
improves the grey tone areas in the AVCHD.
Also the AVCHD tests were not shot in 24PN- However in 60i wrapper cause I used the higher settings 60- 62 -70
These are extreme situations too. Under normal setups, these quibles are far less important.
The NEW AVCHD kick's serious a$$ compared to the old AVCHD in the GH1
320ISO test
