Hello, I shot a short film this last weekend. I had someone take the .mts clips from the HMC150 and put it into a custom folder. They ruined the file directory so when I try to transcode with the Panasonic AVCHD to P2 converter it says the footage is unsopported! I shot mostly 24p and some 60p slow mo shots. Basically I need the file structure the camera sets up for the files but i dont have the sd card or the camera with me anymore because it was a rental

I might be totaly wrong on this one... But it might work; In Premiere (should go with other programs to) import the avchd clips one by one. Now, export them as P2, and the app should build up a p2 dvcprohd structure from the file... Maybe?:undecided

thank you Admir for replying, unfortunatly i dont have premeir pro. I forgot to add in there that Im using AVID Media Composer 3.1

IDK how bad you've messed up the file structure but I've put everything back on the card and then repaired each clip individually in the Camera. When you try to preview a clip in the camera, if the file structure is corrupted it asks you to "repair" that might help.

Well, this is going to fly in the face of the conventional gospel of this forum -- but it's the truth as I've experienced it.

That directory structure only matters with the Panasonic transcoder. Transcode with something else to some other format and you should be absolutely fine.

I'm told the newest version of Avid Media Encoder will import and transcode the file to the Avid format. If you're using an older version of Avid, try Procoder or any of the other transcoding programs out there to transcode to a format you can import.

Bottom line -- your issue is specific to the transcoder you're using. In Premiere Pro CS4/5 the directory is irrelevant, for ProCoder 3 the directory is irrelevant, etc.
