AVCHD proxies and RAW conform

Is there anyone managing to edit using the native AVCHD files and then conform in the grade to the O7Q RAW files? Is this even possible?
My Odyssey has just touched down in Harare, Zimbabwe and I am looking forward to playing with it!

I'm not exactly sure why you'd want to do this. AVCHD is a capture format, not an editing format. As such, it's processor intensive to edit AVCHD because of the level of compression. So, I'm not sure you're saving anything but file size when you edit AVCHD. And, ultimately, you have to load the O7Q files, anyway. If you want to edit proxy files, you're better off x-coding the O7Q files into some smaller bitrate DI codec, like ProRes or DNx36.

AVCHD won't work as proxy files because there is a slight discrepancy between the FS700 and the 7Q. I've noticed that the AVCHD identical files are always longer by about 4 frames. So unless you want to go back and shift every clip by 4 frames, then it's probably better to just transcode the RAW from Resolve to ProRes, edit, then go back to the RAW if you need to.

Thanks - I guess I was just trying to skip the transcode step. But what you say makes sense so I will do it the standard way.
