AVCHD conversion on a G5 macpro

Does anyone have a program they use to convert AVCHD to a G5 happy codec for use in FCP6?

Cant convince myself that it's worth dropping $8000.00 on the editors right now to upgrade to a AVCHD comparable hardware and FCP Suite upgrade. The pair of G5 Quad cores I have still work really well for HD editing, so I'd rather drop the cash on the cameras...

I'm buying a HMC150 for testing and look to standardize on them if they turn out to be as good as everyone says.. and need to know if I am stuck converting on a PC and then importing to the Macs or if I can convert on the G5's.

You can transcode with Toast Titanium 10 (maybe 9 as well), but you'll lose your timecode and the audio might be off by 15 frames depending on what framerate you shoot at. I tried to find a solution and only came up with transcoding on an Intel Hackintosh via FCP. There are other solutions out there, just check through the forums. NeoScene, I believe, is one of them. Don't know about for G5 in that case, though.
