AVCHD as used by the AF100.... EDITING

The GH1 workflow isn't really the same as the HVX. Because of the pulldown situation if you're shooting 1080 on the GH1 you have to L&T then run it through Compressor or another program to remove the pulldown.
I should have clarified that it's GH13 footage, shot at 24p, which comes in without pulldown, so in my case, it really is the same as the HVX. Sorry for the confusion. - Tim

Pearl Harbor is a cinematic masterpiece.

Jester... I have a southpark song for ya.... I'll give it some props but melodrama and me just dont' get along well.... Same for musicals and anything with meryl streep trying to play a sex symbol...

right now I've got an Nvidia Geforce GTS250. Will that not work or be hackable for the murcury?

No transcoding at all, ever, if I can ever avoid it. I hate transcoding. CS5 handles every native codec from every camera, natively.

I don't do multiple renders. Why would I? (ooh, opening a can of worms, I know, but...) Slap the footage on the timeline, slap on the filters, edit, render down once to your final output. That's how I do what I do. I don't do multiple re-renders. If I ever did have to do an exported render, I wouldn't render down to AVCHD, I'd export to the highest-quality codec I could.

Agree with you Barry, We have a Quad core 2.4 Hz (AMD), 8 GB RAM (DDR3), GeForce GTX 470 1.250 GB Fermi (CUDA) Card wich enables Mercury play back. We tested some AF100 Footage (we recorded last week) in premiere pro with 4-5 layers, CC, Tiltles, all realtime. Render to several codecs.

I actually think that "Tora, Tora, Tora!" is a better film than "Pearl Harbor." At least, it's sexier!

Oh, and the ACTING is better, too.
