Anybody downloaded and started using this yet? I'd like to get some feedback as to how it is working before I dig in and use it on a paying project. Will it support footage recorded on the GH2?

Thanks!

Yes. You can use it to open the files in QT...or press the space bar and get them in Quicklook. But you cannot really work with AVCHD native in FCP. I can import the files, but I cannot see them in the Viewer, and when I add them to the timeline, while I can see them, I cannot play them at all without dropped frames warning.

So, you can use it to view the footage outside of FCP...but not really to edit the footage natively.

Let me know if someone has a contrary experience.

Thanks for the reply, I thought the whole point was native editing. Oh well, some day I guess.

Shane, is that a Sequence set to use the AVCHD compression engine?

FCP7 wasn't designed to handle native H264 video. You may be able to get external video working, but generally editing native H264 is going to be a slow and render-heavy process and you're not going to get real time anything. I can't do it on my 3.4ghz i7, whereas FCPX and Premiere handles my DSLR and AVCHD video like a champ.

I set my sequence to proress and the input settings to sony XDCAM 1080p 30fps
