I have never gotten any sort of verification from the PC version when copying. I've found the only reason to even use the copy to hd feature is if you need to use its viewer or "editor". I only say that because you can't use those features if you copy the contents direct from the card... but those features are pretty much useless you don't have any other software on your machine.
Also note it creates new files instead of copying, so the dates are not preserved like they would be if you copy direct. It also renames files and folders into bluray format, so the naming is slightly different. Might be nice if you like to throw raw clips straight onto bluray (can't say I know anyone that does that), but means you cannot copy the content back to a card to play on the camera. So, again, I recommend not using the Copy to PC function unless you specifically need to use other features of the program (and even then, take another direct copy of the card).
