Project Details are there, but we shot RED ONE and used the ZOOM H4N to record audio into a Macbook Pro.

DVXuser Crew: Sam B (Curugon) Co-Director, Jesse Soff (Soffcore) Producer, Matty G. (Matty_G) Gaffer, Geoff Reisner (Geoff_R) 1st AD and Me (Kholi) DP.

Thanks for watching.

Kholi.
Great looking piece. Especially with the time crunch.
What lenses were you using with the RED just curious.

I just got done doing a week long shoot where they rented Zeiss superspeeds (mega bux)
and with your signature saying you have a nikon mount and canon mount..
if thats what you used..
amazing how well the less expensive lenses do.

"Okay, Mystique...why don't you shapeshift into something that isn't a *****!"

Good stuff!

Overall, awesome comedy and stellar work by you VFX dept.

You know, they look good enough that it proves my feeling that with a bit more work they could have just done the Na'vi with make up and use blue screen to make them 10 feet tall. They didn't NEED to be CGI since they are still bipedal humanoids with two eyes, two arms and two feet. Just CGI the tails. Not to knock the CGI, it was amazing, but if you're going to make CGI aliens do something that couldn't ever be done practically.

Look at the physiology and proportions of Na'vi as compared to humans.

Do that with people-in-suits-plus-tails?

Not gonna happen.

Thanks a bunch.

We used Zeiss Standard speeds which were plenty fine. I can yell you though thy a set of Zeiss zfs or contax zeiss will perform just as great if not slightly better. Nikon glass outside of the great zooms is a lot softer to my eye. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.

The next project I shoot will be anamorphic or with and old set of super takumar still photo lenses.

Nice stuff Kholi. I thought it was very well put together considering the limited time and scope of the project. I also found the piece to be witty.

Kudos on the casting as well. The dude playing the General is a close ringer to the real McCoy. Nice catch using Eva Amurri. She was great to watch on Californication this season.

Great job overall. Hope it leads to more work for you.

I Think I'm coming a little late to the party, but just watched it a LOVED it. So tasty, very funny Kholi!
