Autofocus problem?

Hello!

When I use the af, and stop the zoom it needs 5 seconds to get focused. There is no problem with this, just when I see the picture in this 5 seconds, it is like "fallen apart". Like the interlaced lines slide away from each other. Of course not so much, but enough to see, that it is not together. A bit like it looses the resolution. When the focus get fixed, the picture gets good again. In manual focus mode there is nothing problem.
And also, when I use manual focus and I push the "push auto" button, comes the same problem, until I release the button.

It would be great, to see other experiences int this theme.

Thanx for helping!

Hey Delbo,

I had the same issue with my dvx100b. When ever I set it to auto focus and used the servo/zoom it would take about 5 seconds or so before the image would be normal. I sent it to Pansonic Head office to get looked at, the tech explained to me that ALL dvx100b have the same issue with Auto Focus. The reason is because to much information is being processed through the lens. He told me very few people ever set it their cameras on Auto Focus. In fact, none of the Pro Pansonic cameras even have auto focus. If you have a friend with a dvx100, do a side to side comparsion, and you'll see that his dvx100 does the same thing. The best thing to do, is just use manual focus. So don't worry, there's nothing wrong with your camera.

All the best,

Thanx Manymoosh! You made me calm now. I do not plan to use a lot of autofocus, I was just wondering that the cam has some problem.

Thanx again,

Delbo
