Auto-sync static images to the beat

As above. I am looking for a quick way to:

1. Throw in a bunch of X images
2. Based on number of images and number of beats in the audio track, extend the duration of each image till it fits the track

I know this can be done manually, but this is going to take me quite some time when I have thousands of images. Anyone knows the easiest solution to this problem?

Thanks!

I have nothing to add except that I, too, would be very interested in seeing if this is possible. Would save a lot of time in post.

Easy enough to get you half way there with either the Keyframes Assistant > Convert Audio to Keyframes or using Trapcode Sound Keys. I'm just not clever enough to work out how to get that keyframe data to drive advancing to the next image!

You could nest your images staggered with a default duration each in a precomp and use the keyframes to drive time remapping keyframes but would take a lot of tinkering around to get it right.

The link you posted looks like good old fashioned hand animated mograph.

If you want all the images to be the same length you could try to set the default image duration to the correct number of seconds/frames, then select all and "automate to sequence"

Can't guarantee this will work but this is the first thing I'd try if I was in your position!
