Auto roof rack for c-stands?

My new small-scale production vehicle (which is convenient since small-scale production is all I do) is a Subaru Outback. C-stands and equivalent things will fit inside, but not without losing the middle seating. We have an older, very large roof rack cargo box from our land cruiser that rather dwarfs the scooby and would likely kill my mileage with drag... Not to mention being unreasonably spacious inside. However, I think something of that nature would solve this issue.

What, if any, streamlined rooftop cargo racks are people successfully using to house standard c-stands and the like?

I also run a Subie, and I solved this problem with turtle base stands. Take the base off, everything fits. Much easier on the car, and my back. So when I'm going on location, only turtle based stands make the trip with me.

The thing about a roof top carrier for heavy things like c-stands is that it raises the center of gravity of the car, which effects everything from how it reacts in a cross wind to how it handles in corners. With AWD this can effect how the drive train wears, which can translate into expensive repairs down the road. If you can keep the load inside the car, most of these effects moderate considerably.
