I usually shoot with separate audio for interviews etc but was caught short and used a wireless mike into the gh5 in a noisy environment. I couldn't seem to find out how to switch off auto gain? is there a way to do this?
no - what would that have achieved? lowering the gain won't affect the auto gain feature, I want to know how to turn that off. I could clearly hear the gain ramp up while there was only background noise and then lower when the subject was speaking.
Yeah if you set your limiter to something insanely out of whack then you might get a similar ish effect, so quickly switching the limiter to off is a good rough check to see if you've got that wrong
