GH5 Auto Focus impacted by shutter speed! on LX100 and GX85

I saw that same video, and I'm wondering if the GH4 is affected as well. Not that it matters so much, as it's currently up for sale to fund a GH5S purchase.

Long story short: if you want better AF on GH5 (with 60Hz NTSC setting) then you have to use 30p with a faster shutter speed than 1/60th. So take it down to 1/50th or use the Syncro-Scan function to decrease it by 1 degree.

Too bad there's no fix for shooting in 24p.

Sorry, but I think you're just having a placebo effect here. We were discussing it over on the other dvxuser thread here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?358890-Can-anyone-test-and-confirm-these-improved-AF-results-with-GH5

The GH5 focus discovery applies more-so to the shutter angle, and not the shutter speed. For 30p, having the shutter speed at 1/60 already has the "fast" AF. Shutter angle and shutter speed should in theory be the same, but they aren't. A 180 shutter angle is actually 1/59.94 and not 1/60. You just need a faster shutter than 1/59.94 to get the "fast" AF. This is why setting the shutter angle to 179 will result in the faster AF as you will be getting a shutter speed of 1/60.27.

The GX85/G85 don't allow you to change to a shutter angle mode over shutter speed to begin with (and I don't have a GH4 or LX100 to test), but on the GX85 and G85 there is no noticeable difference even when you change the shutter all the way down to 1/30 or up to 1/80 etc.
I'm using my Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 and there is a noticeably slower AF clicking noises when you switch down to 1/50 on the GH5, but the AF speed/clicking remains constant no matter the shutter on the GX85/G85.
