Authorized Dealers - Where to buy

I would say, since the DVX100A has been discontinued for over a year, they cannot be trusted. The price is unrealistic at best.

Best,

Jan

no they can not be trusted at all, dealt with them briefly, even researched on them, and found fake reviews, luckily found resellerratings...and then cancelled my credit card.

i havent talked to them, cause i dont want them to try and give me a restock fee or something, so screw 'em.

I wasnt sure if this had been discussed yet because I didnt look through all 60 pages, but what about ebay? Is it a good idea to buy one of these packages on ebay? I understand that these are not authorized dealers and I can't find most of these stores on reselleratings. But still I was looking at this one in particular . . .

Good price and good package. This seller is also buysafe bonded which seems to be a gurantee of some sort that you wont get ripped off

Does any of this seem legit? Could buysafe be a scam also? The guy only has two user reviews (both postive), could these have been faked?

I'm probably missing something big here so any anwers would be great, thanks!

Edit: Whoops they have a lot of user reviews (I was clicking on the wrong thing) they seem to be mostly positive. (99%) A few neatral reviews that comment on sales calls but I dont think that is of major concern?

Sorry, EBay is not he place to do business. It will be a grey market camera, meaning no warranty, no rebate, no goodies. Not a good deal.

Find an authorized vendor who supports this board and buy from them. In other words, pay back the folks that support you.

Hey thanks Jan

I'll take that advice and buy from an authorized dealer. Even though i've got that part figured out I still have a question (and this may or may not be the right place to post said question)

I noticed WilloughBys sells "kits" that include things such as tripods, lenses, carrying bags, etc. Since I need these items, is it a better idea/deal to buy the products in a ready-made kit (i was looking at the Pro-Kit at WilloughBys) or to just buy the camera alone and then buy a separate tripod, bag, etc.

It only makes sense to buy these kits if you are familiar with the quality of the supplied accessories. If the tripod happens to be junk, you have a junky tripod, and it is very hard to get a quality shoot on a juky tripod. If the kit has exactly what you buy, then yes buy the kit, if not then buy the pieces separately. Same is true on filters and such. I am not a big fan of Dealer kits, because it requires the naive customer to know what they are getting and by the time you have it , it is too late, it is yours.

Analyze.

This is the kit that I just bought from Willoughbys less than 2 weeks ago. I don't necassarily regret it, however, I do wish the carrying bag was bigger, although it is pretty sturdy. I just know I'll have more additional gear eventually and need to upgrade that soon. The tripod is surprisingly sturdy. I'm not crazy about the fact that you can't level with the head, but I'll manage. The light is a waste. Only 3 watts. The filters are a nice addition, as well as the rest of the stuff.
It really depends on how many accessories you'll need down the line, but this was a decent deal, IMO. Like I said, the bag won't work for me long-term, but not everybody may may need as much gear as I think I'll need.

Hi all,

After using the DVXs at my college and the ones that my friends own, I've decided to buy one. I spent about 4 hours last night researching places to buy one; most of that time involved reading this thread. I'm considering buying a DVX110B from buydig.com.

I know:
- BuyDig is not an authorized Panasonic dealer
- It's possible that BuyDig has US models which would qualify for the rebate and the free software, but there's no way to be certain what model I am getting
- I can try to make it a term of sale that if I don't receive a valid-US model, I can return it and receive a US-model, but there's no guarantee of this.
- There are authorized Panasonic dealers that frequent this forum that offer discounts on DVXs for registered members of this forum.

BuyDig's $500 rebate form (http://www.beachtr.com/rebates/Panasonic_PNAGDVX100B_033107.pdf) looks like a valid Panasonic rebate form. Near the bottom it states:
This offer is only available to the end user and original
purchaser. No claims from re-sellers, dealers/distributors, their employees or warehouse facilities, groups, clubs or organizations will
be accepted or acknowledged.
If I understand this correctly, even if I buy a valid US DVX from BuyDig, which has purchased it from another source, I can still qualify for the rebate and other extras. Can anyone confirm this?

I know Panasonic would probably prefer that I buy from an authorized Panasonic dealer, and I know that there are Panasonic dealers on this forum that would appreciate my business, but with the rebate, BugDig's price is about $400 less than the authorized dealers I've checked out, and I could really use the extra $400. I know there is no way to guarantee that I receieve an authorized US model from BuyDig, but from reading this thread, I feel reasonably safe buying from BuyDig knowing that I can probably recieve a US model or return it for a refund or an authorized US model.

We do offer "package" discounts, but b/c each users application can be unique to them, we choose to assist you in the selection of each product that will be the best for your budget. From there, it seems only reasonable to offer a "package discount" albeit not a cookie-cutter package version of it.

Thanks Jan. I can't seem to connect to the site for the rebate form. Is there a way you can send it to me? Thanks.

Hi,

Actually the form is on line from the DVX100B product page and there is a Electronic Rebate site that is noted on the Thank you note that comes with your DVX. This is a private site and is not for publication. When it was public, we were scammed with about $10,000 of false claims. So I do not send the form to anyone, nor do we publish the website address. Sorry.

You can down load a snailmail form, but if you have a US product, there is one in the box with the DVX and it also notes the Web Address for electronic filing.

Best,

Jan

Thanks again Jan. I must be tired because I just noticed that a few posts up, someone else mentioned a $500 rebate and linked to the form. LoL. I need sleep. But thanks again for your quick response. :)

RobTonto: If you decide to go with buydig, let me know how it goes. I was skimming a fewpost on this thread dated back to 2004 and noticed 2 people that bought from buydig had to undergo major warranty repair. That was 2 years ago, so hopefully it not the same now.

As of December 1, 2006, we changed the rebate from $350 to $500. This is in effect until March 31st.

Best,

Oh , what great timing for me, as I ordered my camera a week before then. :crybaby:
