Authorized Dealers - Where to buy

Re: Authorized Dealers - Where to buy

Well the camera came today. Quite quick of them I do say. The magic bullett software was in the box....but no sign of Barry's book or the dvd....My warranty card does have a US Address on it....perhaps they sent me an older model?

Re: Authorized Dealers - Where to buy

yeah, I've been watching willoughby's price over the last week and it just jumped about 70 dollars. I ended up ordering it and then called to ask about the DVD book and they wouldn't give me a clear answer. They said that the boxes are sealed and if its supposed to be in there it would be. I don't think the guy knew anything about it. I expect when it arrives it won't have it. Does that mean its old stock? Is that anything to be concerned about?

It says on the outside of the box with a label. As long as it has the MB, then contact me for the Book. I am amazed that so many dealer says people don't know and don't make it their point to know. Just make it a condition of sale, so that it if it isn't there, it is heding back to them.

Hope that helps,

Jan
As an authorized dealer, all the current camera's shipping are arriving with both the Magic Bullet as well as Barry's Book/DVD.  So unless they are shipping you older stock, it should be included.
And if they are shipping older stock just ping me a private message.

So Hi Jarred, welcome to this cool little side of the universe. Say hi to all for me.

Best,
Take a look at some of Willoughbys ratings on ResellerRatings.com.  There have certainly been some people who did not have good experiences.  Per Jan at Panasonic they are an authorized dealer (http://www.dvxuser.com/cgi-bin/DVX2/YaBB.pl?board=nws;action=display;num=1106900605;start=80#80) but of course that does not always mean great service.  The price fluctuation is a little odd, how long of a period was that over?
I had read the reviews at resellerratings. Very perplexing and disconcerting in some regards. Conversely, a couple of individuals here reported good experiences. The lack of competant e-communication does certainly raise flags with me.

The initial price was as of February 2nd and went lower in a few days. Then the price jumped from the intermediate (and lowest listed price) a day or three ago to 3275.00. I'm still waiting for a reply from their Sales@ e-mail. I may give them a call early next week to see how that goes, but I'm increasingly warry.

I think I mentioned in a previous post that e-mail to CustomerSupport@ was undeliverable and the returned mail message said the final recipient was Willoughbyscam@aol.com!!

Is that Willoughbys cam or Willoughby scam? You'd think that if the address had been hijacked or something they would thank me for alerting them; unless, of course, they don't care for whatever reason. Maybe it's an example of "the lowest price is not always the best deal". Or just that the low ball outfit can't afford to be proficient with their website. (Lord knows _I_ can't spell, but that doesn't mean I _can't_ articulate gooder than the average American.)

I may be chea... er frugal but for about $150 difference, B&H is starting to look like the place to go for the 'price/reputable seller/peace of mind' calculation.

Best,

LHB

Re: Authorized Dealers - Where to buy

They are one of the worst. You will not actually, legitimately buy a PAL DVX in the USA for under $3500. Any store that offers it for much less is almost certainly not going to honor their advertised price.

Re: Authorized Dealers - Where to buy

Unix-
It looks like Andy has a Canon Sunshade on the camera. He also shoots with a Panasonic SDX900, so it appears he is using the sunshade that came with one of his lenses with an adapter ring to fit it to his DVX. The disadvantage to this method is this normally means limiting yourself to non-rotatable 4x4 fileters only.

Re: Authorized Dealers - Where to buy

Holy Cow, $4537 for a DVX? Man, I always feel bad for folks in the European market. When I was in France, a small Canon ZR80 was like $600. Maybe it works out for the individual income level :-/ ... I wonder how much VAT would be n a DVX shipped from here to UK? Anyone know? 20%, 30%?

Re: Authorized Dealers - Where to buy

to all the newbies:
call EVS ask for Rush tell him you're a DVXuser.com member
and he will hook you up with a sweet deal

willoughby's used to have it for $3135 but thery jacked the price up , so right now the absolute BEST price ever with the DVXuser discount is at EVS.

regards ;D

Re: Authorized Dealers - Where to buy

What about GlobalMediaPro?  Are they a reliable online retailer?  I believe they are located in New Zealand & England?  But they state they are not authorised.

Not sure what to make of this place. I´m particular interested to know about a possible world wide warrenty.

Looking forward to hear your thoughts.

Best regards,
Gromit

B&H has a bottom line of $3430 delivered which includes MB, Barry's book in the box and the rebate form. I don't think Rush at EVS can meet or beat this deal even with the DVXuser discount. Like to know if he can.

Re: Authorized Dealers - Where to buy

I like to know myself.....Not sure though B&H gaurantee's barrys book and dvd. I've e-mailed them about the book and here's bh's respond "Hi there

The 2 mentioned items will in the box when you get
the camcorder. In the event it is not, Panasonic will
ship them to you free of charge.

For any additional questions
Please contact our Consumer Video Dept.
By Phone at 800-947-9910 Quick Dial 813,
Or 212-444-5000 - 212-444-6600
Or via Email at consumervideo@bhphotovideo.com

Thank you
Jason"

I've also heard that if barrys book and dvd is not included, it's likely to be an older dvx package. It's still a new dvx but old stock.....

if you're serious about it, you better call him directly before you spend your money somewhere else and then find out you could have gotten it cheaper @ EVS.
I don't work for EVS, but I know they're very flexible and they will negotiate a deal for you.

Hi Lucas! I can easily match that price, and then beat it. ;D Standard DVXuser price (delivered via Fedex 3-day Air, not UPS ground like B&H) is $3422.95. Anyone who bought the camera from me lately can attest that it's a standard DVXuser price, and I am not simply coming in $8 under B&H in this one occasion. If you pay via cash or wire transfer, another $50 comes off the top ;) I always encourage my customers to add insurance for $15, but that doesn't count, because it is totally voluntary, you can choose to leave it off. Also, B&H doesn't automatically add insurance unless you ask for it, so their quote for $3430 does not factor it in.

We also have MB and Barry's DVD in the box, and the Panny rebate is an online form, here is the link: http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webap...logId=13051&itemId=68668&surfModel=AG-DVX100A
