Australian TV Advert Format

I have no idea which forum to ask this in, so since there is a wide range of people here I thought I'd give the cafe a go. If you can suggest a better forum, please let me know.

I will be producing a TV advert in 2 weeks, but I haven't done anything like this since the analogue tape days.

Is there anyone here in the Australian TV industry who can tell me the most widely preferred format(s) for TV stations to use now days? I'm guessing 720p50 or 576i25 for the frame format and 2 channel audio, but what about the codec and bitrate?

Do digital files still need a top with a (I think) 7 second ID and a 20 second tail?

Oh, and the delivery format. Can they usually handle files on USB Flash, or do I have to supply XDCAM discs or BetaCAM Digital tapes (you can see I'm out of touch). If these are required I'll have to go through an intermediate company, which I'd prefer not to do.

Ultimately, I'll phone a couple of local TV stations, but I want to go in with a little more knowledge than I have now.
