Australian Release Date Pused Back!

I just checked Panasonic Australian site and they have changed the release date from Dec 2005 to March 2006. Dam them.

Yeah, I've heard a similar release date for the PAL version. On the plus side it means that any big bugs detected in the NTSC run will have a chance to be addressed before the PAL version ships. I'm willing to wait a couple of extra months for that alone.

Panasonic divisions of the PAL countries seem to work together much tighter than I was thinking: Panasonic-broadcast-europe.de (Germany) changed the release date from december 2005 to 1st quarter 2006 YESTERDAY - and as Germany and Australia are not quite neigbours, this makes me think once again about the bundle rumour that seems to restart with the exhibition in Argentina (look here http://www.dvxuser.com/V3/showthread.php?t=37261 ).

You can't link the bundle rumor to the release date. The PAL/50i version isn't going to be ready until March. That's why every PAL/50i territory is going to change their websites to say March. But as for the bundle thing, every territory is an independent marketing arm and is able to set their own policies. There may very well end up being territories that choose to sell only the bundle -- but even if they do, that has no influence on what any other territory chooses to do.

and I still trust most that e-mail from Panasonic that we were discussing the other day... so it would be the best to put this bundle-gundle on ice until we have either an official statement about it on a Panasonic-PAL internet site or the camera coming out (means: feb/march 2006).
