Aurora Borealis in real time with the Varicam LT

This morning I had the opportunity to shoot some low light test footage at 5000ISO with the Varicam LT. Shot at a 358° shutter setting with a Sigma 16-35mm and de-noised in Resolve. It's not a flawless image, but it's definitely the Northern Lights. I'm very impressed with the LT.

Love those skies in the wilderness. Home come you chose 358°?

To let more light in or for better motion of the lights?

Oh, so on my bucket list. Could look at that for hours. Where did you film this?

Thanks for sharing.

In Anchorage -- South side of the city unfortunately, so there was some haze to contend with shooting northward. Hopefully I'll pick up a gig in the arctic this winter and get a chance to play with the LT in more ideal Aurora conditions.
