The best porn happens after the images pass your retina, anyway.

I think that as long as you don't over do it it's fine, like having a movie that's over 4 minutes long. 2 and fraction should be OK, but anyway, I'm not the organizer, what do you think john?

Re: August DVX fest

Check out the Entry guidelines by Dan Lahav in the Contest thread. He posted this right before the July contest.
All entries MUST be submitted by 12AM PST, two days before the months end, allowing two full days of voting at the end of the month

Re: August DVX fest

am i missing something, its august 31th, i came to see some contest films, where are they at?

Re: August DVX fest

I think this would be a better idea if it had some exposure and perhaps some 'giveaways' (via sponsorship? I dont know). No one really seems to know about it and thats too bad.

Re: August DVX fest

John,

I think there's a lot of folks that know about the contest. You really got the word out last month and my video had something like 170 downloads through DVXUser. I think the problem is that the contest is too restrictive. Loosen up on the required theme and the time limit and let people submit *recent* DVX projects. Maybe do a theme every 3 months, to give people time to get something together and make the time limit more reasonable, like 15-20 minutes. Just some thoughts.

Re: August DVX fest

I somewhat agree with Barry. I think maybe 6 contests a year would be a good median. Something about having only 4 tho seems a bit long winded.

Also, as someone who is still on dialup, and who has limited time at work to watch 20 minute videos (not to mention producing a longer piece will take that much more time to film and to do the post work on), maybe something in the 5-10 min range will be better. Plus I like the idea of working on keeping my projects tight and without much filler.

That said, Barry, when are us DC area users going to get together and make something KA?
