Hi!
So I am about to buy whole audio package for my camera. I am kindly asking you for advice.

1. Interview, handheld microphone.
Sennheiser MD46, Electro-Voice RE50, something else? I wanted them eventually to be wireless, so is it worth it to buy cabled microphone and then that plugin for wireless or it's going to be to expensive?

2. Lavaliers
Rode Lavalier, Sennheiser, something else?

3. Lav wireless system
Sennheiser EW 100, 300, 500 (is there massive difference of quality between versions?) or something else?

4. Monitoring headphones

5. Recorder for audio from live events (plugging in directly to audio system and recording from that)
Tascam, Zoom, something else?

Anything elses that I am missing in here? (I have shotgun mic on camera, I am skipping boom equipment for now)

Sorry for so many questions, but I am complete noob when it comes to audio and I have to chose it in the next couple of days :/

MANY, MANY thanks in advance for all your help!

You'll find lots of good information to get you started in the yellow stickies at the top of the sound forum. Start HERE.

Regarding the handheld, get the mic first as the option to run wired or wireless will make you more flexible. There are wireless systems available with both beltpack and XLR plug-on transmitters.

Thanks for quick reply! :)
I will check those yellow topics, but - haven't anything changed since that moment? Some of them are like 3 years old (so maybe some new equipment got developed?)

Regarding that handheld microphone it seems that those plug-on transmitters are very expensive and it would be cheaper to get wireless mic in first place. For exampe MD 46 is $200 G3 transmitter $300, and wireless Sennheiser SKM 100-835 is $329. Am I missing something? Is there any caveat that is not quite that obvious?
Thank you for help! :)

Many of them have continuing discussions and/or are otherwise updated as new products come out. Regardless, the basics remain applicable to newer products. Just read through them, then come back and ask if you need clarification. And don't forget the forum search function. A lot of the beginner questions have already been asked and answered several times.

In fact, just scan through the first 10 pages in the sound forum to see what recent discussions have been. You might even find a very similar question in discussion within the last couple of days.

There are wireless systems with handheld mics that have integrated transmitters. However, you'll be hard-pressed to find one that has a dynamic, omnidirectional capsule. Get the proper mic (MD 46 is one, but there are several other options), and add the plug-on transmitter later if you cannot afford the combo system to start.
