I have an Audio Technica AT815b currently, and I'd like to know how this mic stacks up to an Sen. ME66, Ntg-2, Ntg-3, etc.?

Also, can someone post what the newest mic. to come out in the last year would of the many mics in the $250-$800 range would be? Thanks in advance!

A mic does not become obsolete, so long as it does what you need it to do, and it still gets the results you want.

Personally, Im not a fan of the ME66... the NTG-2 wipes the floor with it, to my ear. I'd say the 815b is probably a formidable contender against the NTG-2. No chance against the NTG-3, which rivals the Senn. MKH416. The NTG-3 is probably the most amazing sub-$1k mic deal ($699 street price) to come out in the last couple of years. Of course, that's according to my ear. It's really a matter of personal preference in the end.

That makes me feel better that the at815b is comparable to the Ntg-2, having never tried an Ntg-2 I kind of had the mentality that the grass was greener on the other side.
