Let's say I plug in a boom or lav mic, let's say on channel one, is there something I can get so that I can put the mic on both channel one and two?

There really is no reason to do this...

In post you set your audio to be on 1 channel or both. I always use my built in mic as a backup on channel 2 if i don't have anything else like wireless plugged in.

But if you must know: Put your mic in input 2, then set both of your R & L channels to input 2.

Thanks for your help.

There's actually a very good reason to do this...

You set one channel a little lower than the other, that way if the person starts talking really loud all of a sudden, you still have some headroom to play with.

To be clear: plug the mic into XLR input 2, and set channel 1 to Input 2, and channel 2 to input 2, using the switches behind the LCD. Then set the gains separately for each channel.

Get a splitter. What is not clear is how to only have one phantom power source...

Let me know how that goes with the XLR Y cable. I wouldn't recommend. The camera can do it right out the box.
