Audio Question

Is there a filter or easy way in Vegas to alter the pitch of someone's voice? I'm looking for a "horror" movie type sound. I.e The ghost face from scream, or the very deep raspy voice of a disguised murderer. If anyone has seen the trailer for SAW you'll know what i'm talking about.

Re: Audio Question

Yes, you can do amazing things audio-wise in Vegas.

Right-click the audio file, choose "apply non-realtime event fx", and then choose "sonic foundry pitch shift".

Thanks Barry! I'll test some stuff out tonight.

Re: Audio Question

You can also adjust pitch without having to render out a new file by right-clicking on the audio event, and selecting a pitch shift method in the "Time Stretch/Pitch Shift" area.

If you have V5, you even have a keyboard shortcut to adjust pitch. I think by default it's something like Ctrl + '=' or something like that (I haven't upgraded yet and I can't remember)

BTW: this question just reminded me of how much it sucks that you can't keyframe audio filters like you can video fliters. >:(
