Audio question on HVX

How many channels are recorded when shooting 720 on the HVX?
I shot a 2-person interview last week in 720 30P, and I used the same settings I would use on a DVX or when shooting DV on the HVX, but one of the lavs didn't seem to be picking up the audio, although the channel I designated it to was getting sound.

It wasn't the mic, as near as I can tell. Are there some HVX audio settings I need to be aware of when shooting HD?

4 Channels of audio are always recorded when shooting HD. If you set Channels 1&2 to external then 3&4 will get the internal mic input. The opposite is true also... if 1&2 are set to internal, then 3&4 will get the external input.

So as long as the Mic was producing audio and you had your inputs set to Mic level you should have audio on at least one of the four channels.

Hmm...I think I had one lav set to channel 1 and the other to channel 2, but one sounded like it was coming from the camera mic and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong...other than the channel switch, is there something I might have overlooked?

Thanks,
Andrew

the level indicators in the viewfinder verify if you have audio on Ch 1&2. if you have the INPUT switches set correctly, you see both channel's levels moving. in 720/1080, 4 channels are always recorded, but you cannot control the levels of Ch 3&4.

and what Shipsides said - the mic/line level switch is at the external jacks (not the switch panel), and most lav receivers are mic level; if you have line selected, you get nothing.
