Audio Monitor Delay?

I'm experiencing a delay in the audio coming through the monitor. It's a fraction of a second but noticeable. Recorded audio synch perfectly, just the sound coming through the headphones. Anyone else notice this?

I can certainly shoot around this, but I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my camera, some setting I'm missing, or a problem endemic to the model.
 
It could be 1 of 2 things or maybe both. First read #10 in the first post here, secondly HDSDI and HDMI both have a little delay regardless of which camera you use and you can't change that.
 
Assumeably HP means Head Phones.

BTW: I am trying to fathom the difference and reason for the 2 settings? Live /Recording
