Audio meter, no marking

Hello, i'm very pleased with my DVX100B but the sound ingeneers with who i work are not very pleased by the lack of marking in the audio meter. Do ou know what are the exact reference of that meter? I know that the last white mark is -12dB but do you know which one correspond to -18db and -20 db? It's a pity for such a professional camera in many ways that they haven't add that marking. It's not an expensive addition. I would like to add a tranparent with the marking on the LCD in order for the sound ingeneer to not freak out when they see the level meter!!

The vertical line is at -12dB (any louder than that and the graph dots are red).

Each dot represents -2dB of volume.

So turn the audio down 4 dots from the white line and you'll be at -20.

Following that logic, the last red dot is at -4db. Is that correct or does the -2db rule only apply for the white dots under -12db? Also, the user manual indicates that the last white dot is at -34db. But following the -2db rule, it should be at -30db. What is correct?
