Audio keeps falling behind Video

I downloaded an audio broadcast stream flash file to match up with a high school baseball game. I get the audio in sync with the first pitch and falls behind immediately within just a few seconds. The flash audio is 32hz which I have my sequence set to in FCP but nothing is working to keep this in sync with the video. Any thoughts on this, Ive tried everything and its frustrating>

First thing is that you need to convert your audio to 48kHz AIFF or WAV, and set your FCP sequence to 48kHz which is native audio resolution for video. You're asking FCP to deal with audio that is not intended for FCP.

So if I convert the sample rate it should work? I think I tried that and it kept falling out of time just the same

I don't think the sample rate is the issue... as the OP said, FCP supports 32k and in my experience does a fine job with rate conversions. Much more likely are issues with the stream, stream format, or your means of capturing the stream. How are you capturing the stream? Is there any way you can ask the stream provider for the original audio?

Pretty much by definition, streaming servers will adjust the stream to meet real-time constraints rather than deliver bit-for-bit perfect audio... so I wouldn't expect to have luck syncing a captured stream. "Downloaded" might work... but I'm not sure what you mean by that...

Cheers,
Barry

I grabbed the file with an app called Jaksta which downloads embedded flash files. I then converted the flv file to AIFF 48hz and its still not working
