hello

i have a dvx 100a- recently i can't get any sound out of the audio jack. i can play back and get sound out of the camera speakers, but i can't get anything through the jack/headphones under any circumstances (and i've tried different head phones). this just happened recently, and i don't think there is a mute button (if there is please tell me). i need help- with either a solution or a good place in los angeles to get it repaired.

thanks

This issue is something I have seen in at least half of the DVX-100's I have ever used. That is at least 25. I bought my first DVX used and it came with a faulty headphone jack. I have been using the line out RCA jacks with a headphone amp for 3 years. Several of my friends have had it repaired and it is usually around $300 to fix. I am often in loud situations when shoot (Weddings, Concerts and Events) so I like having the boost that a good headphone amp give me, so I never saw a need to fix it.

With a couple adapters and cables this unit has worked great for me. I love it so much I use it even when using a camera with working headphone jack.

The only real downside is it requires a 9 volt battery. Which is another thing to forget on shoot day.

One of the big pluses is I can turn up my monitor level without touching the camera, especially helpful when zoomed all the way in. In reverse I can cut the sound during very loud situations.
