GH4 Audio issue on GH4

Hey folks. My friend is having an issue with his GH4 that I'm sure is just a settings mistake. His audio was working fine. But a few days ago, something happened. He gets audio levels on screen and can hear the audio through the headphone jack. But there's an icon indicating that audio isn't being recorded, and the files do not have any audio. I have attached a photo of the screen, with the icon on it. Thanks!

are you sure you listened to the files and it did not have audio?

THAT icon is a speaker icon and its shows when Silent mode is engaged. The level meter shows the sound is recorded.

Silent mode merely turns off the electronic beeps and clicks and also engages electronic shutter.

edit. -you won't hear the audio from the camera speaker if you play the file in-camera.

And just to add. In silent mode you can hear the audio during recording AND playback Via Headphone jack.

Oh ok, I was thinking you were saying headphones, but you said speaker. I'm pretty sure that he isn't getting audio from headphones while recording. But he was before. We'll look it over better tomorrow, and I'll report back if we can't get anywhere. Thanks, again!
