Audio help on DVX100A

I just bought my DVX100A. I need to set the onboard mics to mono and i cannot figure it out if it is even possible. I would be greatful for any help.

I will not be posting for this pourpose. I will be doing legal depositions and will be turning the tapes over to the contractor. they require mono recording and i was trying to cheap out on a shotgun. the mic is for back-up only.

The onboard mic is stereo.

If you want to have only one track of audio, you could try setting channel 1 to INT and channel 2 to an external mic, and just not have a mic hooked up there... I don't know how well that will work...

since i am not using the camera to record i will use a y connector to combine l and r to a mono plug. I just thought there may be a way to switch the audio to mono
