I'm trying to dub some audio onto my DVX100A using the RCA jacks. I'm inputing sound from a cassette deck. I got all the settings right and started dubbing once but I stopped because I wanted to recue the music. I haven't been able to get the dubbing message to appear again. :'( I've shut the camera off and on as well as the cassette deck. I've tried sound at 32K and 48K. Does anybody have any ideas I might try? Thanks. Perhaps this is something that's in a new manual for this camera.

It would be much easier to do in a NLE, then you don't ahve to worry about camera setup.

I believe firewire is the only way my editor can input sound into his NLE. That's why I need to get the sound recorded on my DVX.

I see the dilema. I personally have never tried to dub anything using the dvx, but you could always just record the audio (no video) by itself to mini DV and then have him capture that in his NLE.

Yeah just record from your line in using an RCA to Stereo Mini......
