Audio Drop Outs

I'm getting audio drop-outs on a camera that is using the on board microphone. Does anyone know what could be causing the problem? Could it be a setting?

No, it isn't a setting. YOu sould have it evaluated by a service tech. Go here: http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/WhereTo/FindServicer.asp?Pass=1

Find one nearest you and have them check it out.

It might just be the tape or can you hear it in real time on your head phones?

To begin with thanks for the responses. The drop-outs could not be heard through headphones. I cleaned the heads, if the problem continues I'll just take it to a service center. Again thanks for the help.
