Audio drop out on playback deck....

I have been filming with my DVX and recording audio through a wireless mic connected to the XLR input.
Settings:
Input 1 Line/Mic set to mic
Channel 1 Select set to input 1
Phantom power off
Audio set tp 16 bit
ALC on
The audio sounds fine if played back through the DVX via Firewirw & headphones.
However, when I play it back through my TRV-900 (which now serves as my playback deck) it drops several audio frames every few seconds. I have tested other tapes and all connections on the TRV-900. Everything works fine with other tapes, but it drops frames from every out-put when I playback the DVX tapes.
Any ideas why?

Re: Audio drop out on playback deck....

I have noticed the same thing using my trv-9 as my playback deck. It's most pronounced when I am playing back tapes from an XL1.

The issue stems from the track pitch (or angle that the video is recorded during the helical scanning process) being slightly different from manufacture to manufacture. I assume that the video portion plays back fine on your setup. If the tape play's in a different deck than this is most likely the case.

Yeah. the video is perfect.
Any way around this issue?
any idea why it would only be during use of external mics?
