Audio disappears on Import

I am directly importing .mov files from a drive on my MAC Pro into a bin in Avid MC.
This is not merely pointing to the original files as you can see the time it takes to copy both audio and video separately into AMC.

The problem is there is no audio linked with the imported file even though it is embeded with the original .mov file. To make matters worse I can't find the imported data. The Avid 'project' and associated bins are easy to find but, I have no idea where the imported files are. I have tried relinking with the original .mov files with no results.

How can I link the audio back up with the video?

On a PC just right click and choose 'relink' (on a mac its in one of the menus). Under the bin headings choose or look under "offline" if A1 & A2 (or the like) shows up for the clip you know there was a problem importing audio when you brought in the QT.

Often when I edit, audio shows up in the time line but the actual media was blown away so nothing plays. A quick 'batch import' which reloads the audio or VO and Im back cutting. If it shows up in the bin as 'offline' you have a similar problem.

Relink does not work.
Even when I point directly to the extracted audio files (mxf) they still will not relink. The original file is just a standard .mov that easily plays back in Quicktime.
I have done relink many times before without issues.

Not that this is the answer... but can you do a work around and bring the audio in seperately (Squeeze?) then just line them back up. Im stumped by your issue.
