Audio Delay from SDi Splitter

I'm looking for an SDI splitter that would allow me to input 1 SDI and provide me with an audio out as well as at least 1 SDI output. I basically want to split off the audio from an SDI stream. The audio is then used for a live/house amplification.

I thought this would do the trick, however the audio output has a slight delay which is causing too much reverb.

Are there any better products on the market that won't have the delay?

Though you may have the issue backwards. If the audience is hearing the direct sound from the stage and you are sending it to a house system the audio generally needs to be delayed. The live sound is traveling at ... the speed of sound and the signal is traveling electrically at about the speed of light so the speakers in any place large enough to really need amplification are putting out the stage sound before the direct sound. So if you have "reverb", really echo, then it's probably because the sound is not delayed enough.

Wow, never considered all the delay issues. It's a 40 person room but for some reason the client likes to have just a smidge of amplification. The issue I was getting was definitly a delay coming from the device, not the actual live audio.

For my purposes the Black magic looks like it's the proper solution. A bit pricey but it seems like you get what you pay for.

The other thing is that there is processing time on digital signals so decoding can lag one side or the other depending on the flow. In post for instance plasma screens (once quite popular) had a delay processing the video so you had to put a delay in the audio to the speakers from the DAW to compensate or you would end up cutting a frame+ out of sync.
