I am planning on doing some testing footage and I am going to need audio/ decibel meter to compare sound levels.

My budget is 100-200 bucks. Any recommendations?

If you're setting up an editing workstation, the Radio Shack analog SPL meter at about $45 is fine.

Take care of comparing sound levels. There is something like "electric measurement", "loudness measurement" and "human ears"

Generally when taking measurements all that matters is how you're weighting the response and how fast you're responding to the signal.

"C" weighting and "Slow" response are the most common for setting up editing and/or mixing rooms. "A" weighting is used for OSHA hearing damage measurements (doesn't really measure bass as it's MUCH harder to damage ears with lower frequencies than mid/higher frequencies). "Flat" is used if you're looking at an RTA and want to see multiple data points along the frequency response.

If that doesn't answer your question can you let us know what are you measuring? What's it for? And what data are you looking for?
