Hey friends,
Well, our 2-3 year-old HVX200 has finally come to its first need for repair. I'm guessing it's long out of warranty at this point - and I'm not sure if our insurance will cover it. Here's the issue we're having:
Any input to audio channel 2 does not show up on the on-screen audio level meter, and does not record to the P2 with video. Originally, I thought it was just the right side of the on-camera mic. Further investigation showed that neither the right channel of the on-camera mic nor any input to XLR input 2 would record to channel 2. XLR Input 2 will show up on meter 1 and propely record to Channel 1. The right side of the on-camera mic will also record to Channel 4 properly.
Anyone ever have this problem before? I hate to send it away, but if I am going to send it away, I'd like to get a full-camera checkup all-in-one. Has anyone ever gotten a 'checkup' before, or can anyone recommend a good repair shop?
The not-easily navigable Panasonic site finally led me to a repair center called Nivie in Brooklyn. I called and they were closed, so I sent an email to their service@ address, which gave me a non-delivery notice -- NOT a good sign for a place I might entrust with my bread & butter!
How long do repairs usually take?
