Audio case recommendations

Hey,

So I picked up an Edirol R-44 recently and was looking at the case Edirol make for it. There's literally NO good pictures of it online - only one or two stock pictures that don't show enough.

However, it doesn't look very big and looks like it can't hold any more gear than the R-44 itself.

This isn't good for me as I need an audio case that a) will also let me carry some other gear inc mic or two + 2x G2's minimum (which means receiver + trans), as well as the odd bit and bob.

and b) I need something inconspicuous. I shoot a lot in urban environments where safety in a concern and need to be able to pack everything away in a non-descript manner. The portabrace cases look nice but I can't be carrying a bright blue bag around, I'll be too obvious.

That's why I like the R-44, it fits easily in my Domke bag but naturally that doesn't have easy access.

Can anyone please recommend an audio bag that'll case a R44+some bits (not too big!) that is also discreet?

Many thanks!
Andy

Second vote for Porta Brace.

They actually have one made for the Edirol recorders, that also has a front pocket for extras. You might want to call... like Jordan said, they do make most of their stuff in black as well, but it might be a special order (should be roughly the same price).

This case from Harbor Freight (Chinese knock-off tool headquarters) is big enough and doesn't look nearly as flashy as a PortaBrace or Pelican or Haliburton, et.al.

OTOH, I prefer buying old beat-up luggage from the Goodwill intake center. Stuff that is still mechanically sound with working latches and hinges, etc. But too ratty looking for even GW to sell! :-)

In most cities it doesn't scream "Steal Me!" like something that says SONY on the side in 9 inch letters! You can leave it on the sidewalk or the loading dock for a few minutes without drawing a lot of attention (as long as the rest of your kit is also stealth!)

Old thread. But just curious if anybody here owns a Mixer and R-44 combo if so what bag are you using. I was looking at the Audio Organizer bag I think that could hold a SD mixer(442 or 552) and Edirol Recorder. Any other suggestions would be nice.
