GH4 Audio cable for GH4

Panasonic stated at one point that their audio input is 3.5mm trrs instead of standard stereo input.
However, I see that Erik Naso tested it and it of course did not solve the problem with the buzz in the GH4.

I've recently purchased the GH4 which has a factory installed 1.1 update and should already have the audio fix. (haven't tested it yet, I'm about to)

My plan is to either plug a battery powered mic (MKE600) directly into the camera,
or will often run it through my Tascam DR-40 (which I know has it's own buzzing issues) and take the headphone/line out from it and patch directly into the GH4.

So, although it didn't solve the audio issue, should I be using these cables anyway? (Since panasonic stated it's trrs)

Balanced Mic to GH4 - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...PS4RA_XLRJ_6IN_Premium_4_pole_TRRS_3_5mm.html

My concern is that these are listed for iphones which would have mic/Left audio/Right audio. Will these work with the GH4 for my purpose?

Thanks!

Can't answer directly regarding your links or specific mic, but I can say I wired my own TRRS to TRS cable to a JuicedLink preamp using a Nuemann phantom-powered shotgun, and it works great. Essentially, the TIP-RING-RING GH4 input wires directly to the TIP-RING-SLEEVE into my JuicedLink. My shotgun requires phantom, so I was looking for some mixer or pre-amp in-between that deals with 3.55mm. Hope this helps.

I'm interested to know the answer to this as well. My work has a ton of Sennheiser SM50 microphones, but these aren't powered. If I buy that 3.5mm Mini Plug to XLR cable can I pop on the SM58 with an XLR and be good to go? I would use it for things like interviews.

wait, can you plug the zoom h4n into the gh4? Id love to have my ntg-1 going straight to the camera instead of having to sync multiple clips.

So the Zoom H4N is a recorder, probably that would record out of the headphone jack if you wanted a second record of sound. The NTG-1 is a phantom powered shotgun mic? If so, this is where I had a similar phantom shotgun get powered from a JuicedLink and record directly into the GH4 via a TRRS to TRS 3.5mm cable. Again, this works great.

Where did you end up buying it from?
Surprised they got 1.1 into the channel so quickly...
Please post when you confirm it has the audio fix...

What would be the difference between that Kopul cable http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/885062-REG/kopul_lmt_100_lo_to_hi_impedance.html and this Hosa Cable http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/158476-REG/Hosa_Technology_XVM_101F_Mini_Stereo_Male_to.html? I use the Hosa with my AT875 mic directly in the GH4. It splits the mono into two stereo channels, however the signal is very week.
I asked the B&H rep if there was a right angle version and he suggested that. Then I asked him if it was the same cable with low to high impedance and he double checked it, and it is not. So he said I would be better off with the Kopul LMT100. I don't think the Hosa cable has a transformer in it, but maybe I'm wrong.
